What is a Brazilian blow-dry?
The Brazilian Blow Dry uses keratin to nourish and smooth your hair. It is semi-permanent. The Brazilian Blow Dry leaves hair hydrated and frizz-free, or at least less frizzy. It is also easier to manage. If you have curly hair, the treatment will help to straighten it naturally. This creates a healthy and sleek appearance. It eliminates frizz, and helps define curls.
It is best for who?
This treatment works for most hair textures. However, it isn’t necessary to use on ultra-straight or curly hair. If your hair is prone to frizz, difficult to manage, in need of hydration or you’d just prefer to spend less time washing and styling, a Brazilian Blow Dry might be for you.
What is the process?
Your stylist will then dry your hair rough. Your stylist will then apply a keratin product to your hair. This treatment can be left on up to 30 minutes, depending on hair length and type. The product is sealed in by blow drying your hair and, in some cases, straightening it. The keratin creates a protective barrier around your hair strands and seals the cuticles. This reduces frizz, and protects your hair from damage.
How long is it lasting?
A Brazilian blow dry can last up to 4 month. This is a cumulative procedure, so with regular appointments you will get longer lasting results. For those with curlier or coarser hair, booking more appointments may be necessary to achieve the desired result.
How can you maintain it?
It is good to know that the aftercare for a Brazilian blow dry is minimal. As with any other hair treatment we recommend you to avoid using products that can strip the hair from the treatment. To take good care of your hair, we recommend that you do not wash your hair within the first 24 hour post-treatment. Instead, use a shampoo and conditioner without sulphates. If you’re thinking of colouring your hair shortly after getting a Brazilian blow-dry, it might be time to think again. We recommend that you wait at least two weeks after the Brazilian blow-dry before applying any colour. Tell your stylist that you’ve had the treatment at your consultation before applying colour.
