The COVID-19 pandemic made it even more difficult to deal with cancer. Dr. Bobbi’s medical team initially recommended a cautious approach, but as they witnessed the rapid growth of the tumor, they knew immediate action was necessary.
She underwent a double breastectomy and reconstruction in April 2020. It was made more challenging because of the tight hospital restrictions that were in place during the pandemic. The patients were left to deal with treatment and recovery on their own, while healthcare workers were overworked due to the COVID-19 influx.
Despite these obstacles, Dr. Bobbi’s spirit remained unbroken. She shared her story on YouTube and offered hope to those facing similar challenges. Her strength and courage inspired countless others to fight cancer.
The Road to Recovery and Renewed Purpose
Dr. Bobbi’s journey continued with almost 16 rounds of chemotherapy during the summer, followed by another surgery in October. Her treatment ended with radiation therapy that lasted into January of the next year. Every step of the journey, she faced health challenges with unwavering courage and a style that never changed.
