Tiffany and Co. has revealed the third version of its Bird on a Rock Collection that was launched earlier this year.
Inspired by Jean Schlumberger’s brooch that was first introduced in 1965, the new collection features designs in yellow and white diamond suites.
The new design features diamond-encrusted birds “spreading its wings in flight as it flutters gracefully around rare diamonds”.
With each design, the bird’s perch position is tailored to the gemstone that it interacts with, an approach that follows “Schlumberger’s own creative process”.
On the newest pendants and brooches, the feathers are elongated, and the bird’s perspective changes as it showcases the largest diamonds in the collection: Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds of over 20 and 28 carats, and white diamonds of over 10, 20 and 22 carats.
Tiffany and Co. artisans have cut the 22-carat D colour white diamond into the same cushioned modified brilliant-cut shape of the Tiffany Diamond.
Tiffany and Co. will introduce for the first ever two Bird on a Rock watches in 39mm, along with the new Bird on a Rock jewellery styles.
Handcrafted from 18k white gold—with a platinum, 18k yellow gold and diamond bird motif—each Swiss-made 39 mm timepiece features a diamond-encrusted dial and case.
One watch features aquamarines. Another showcases a gradient consisting of sapphires.
The watches are also equipped with an automatic mechanical movement that has a power-reserve of 38 hours. They also come with an elegant alligator leather strap.
The Schlumberger Tiffany and Co Bird on a Rock fall collection will debut in October at a high-jewelry celebration.
