A new clothing line that celebrates whisky’s roots, while seemingly going against the grain of elegance and style, exudes high-fashion. Every thread carries the refinement and quality of a high-end single-malt. The Glenturret, Scotland’s oldest working distillery (established 1763), launched its debut lifestyle, clothing, and accessories collection from its distillery shop in Crieff, and its online store is up and running.
The luxury clothing maker in Glasgow has teamed up with the high-end whisky manufacturer Alexander Manufacturing. The origin of Mackintosh as a manufacturer dates back to 1815. Thomas Hancock was the first person to patent the process for waterproofing fabrics.
Using traditional processes going back 175 years, the company continues to be driven by innovation and creates some of the world’s best quality, sustainable garments. The collection, which includes trench coats as well as a weekend bag and picnic blanket, features a tartan designed exclusively by the Lovat Mill, located in Hawick, Scottish Borders. It is also listed on the Scottish Tartan Register.
