
Happy New Years 2022! I hope that everyone had an amazing time celebrating New Year’s with their family, loved ones and friends. The fact that we have a chance to start fresh and reset with the new year is wonderful. I am ready to press refresh. Are you ready to make a new start? Since the beginning of the new calendar year, people can now set new goals to achieve in the coming twelve months. It is only natural that many of us hope for things to be different every year. We hope for a better year in 2022 as the calendar moves to January. We are now ready to refresh our minds and set new year’s resolutions. As I look back on 2021, which started with the loss of my dad, it wasn’t an easy year to start; but in all, it has been a fulfilling year for my life and career in general. I am looking forward to the wonderful things that are in store for me in 2022. The best way for me to begin my year is by being present and deliberate. I tend to be more goal-oriented rather than make resolutions. This year I will focus on my mental, physical and self-care health.

Everyone is eager to get in shape, work out, eat healthy, and be better. These resolutions may be great but they are not always easy because life happens. So, don’t beat yourself up or rather, don’t focus so much on making new year’s resolutions. Focus on your well-being, mental health and self-care. Be deliberate, smart and conscious in your health choices. This is the easiest and best way to start the new year.

How to Start your New Year in the Best way possible
1) Start by working towards improving your fitness. Slowly build up your fitness and make it a habit, not just a year-end goal. It is more important to exercise to feel good and healthy than to get slimmer. Walking, hiking, dancing, and/or any other activity that brings you joy are all good exercises. Restructuring your eating habits by focusing on healthy food choices as this will become an essential staple in your self-care routine. Focus on becoming healthier and stronger throughout this year. Get yourself a new exercise outfit and start working towards a healthier version of you.
Set realistic goals for improvement. It’s okay not to be where you want or need to be tomorrow, next day or next month. Set your own pace, and stick to it. No matter what it is, if you’re starting with a fitness goal, you should focus on developing small daily goals so that no unnecessary hurdles are standing in the way of reaching your long-term goals.
Focus on your self-care to become a better version of yourself. Focusing on self-care means that you should take the time to care for yourself every day, get enough rest, meditate every day for 15 minutes and drink lots of water.
4) Don’t give up if things don’t go exactly how you planned. For anything to be successful in life, you need patience and perseverance. Don’t let yourself become overwhelmed if you have a day where you struggle with your goal or if your efforts don’t seem to make much of a difference.
This year, make a commitment to a lifestyle change that will last. Be consistent with your choices in terms of health, fitness, and self-care, but most importantly, mental health.
Remember, being healthy isn’t meant to feel like an obligation or something you dread having to do every day. It should be enjoyable! By joining a local yoga class, trying new sports or taking up cycling, you can make the most of all your options to stay active in your community. You will feel healthier and happier once you make resolutions that are centered around self-care, mental health and fitness. Make it a happy and kind year!
