Jeep has traditionally been known as a manufacturer of rugged SUVs, with an off-road capability at their core. However, the Wagoneer S represents a major shift in Jeep’s brand image as it enters into the electric era. The Wagoneer S is Jeep’s first full-sized electric SUV and comes armed with a bevy of features to compete with its rivals. There are plenty of SUVs that can compete in the all-electric segment, but the Wagoneer tried to stand out. It is certainly the most radical Jeep in terms of styling. It’s smaller than a Grand Cherokee, while the seven-slot grille is a major transformation. There are no intakes and it has lighting elements instead. The enclosed grille illuminates your line of vision when approaching the vehicle.
A slightly sloping front grille also makes the rest of design sleeker. Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition features black accents and 20-inch Gloss Black rims. It also has Gloss Black, dark grey, and gloss black exterior elements. The dashboard is covered with screens, including one for passengers. The interior features a dashboard with numerous screens, including one for the passenger. This is also the first Jeep with electronic door release.
The Launch Edition is also equipped with customizable LED lighting that can be set to daytime or nighttime, active ambient lighting in up to 64 different colors, and a dual pane panoramic roof. Jeep says it’s the only BEV with standard heated seats, and that they are exclusive to this model. There is also a McIntosh custom 19-speaker sound system. Jeep also made some surfaces non-leather. The 12.3-inch standard center display is equipped with the latest infotainment and has a sharper display.
Jeep Wagoneer S comes with a 400-volt battery pack of 100-kilowatt hours. This allows the owner to charge their vehicle. Charging times range from 20 to 80 percent in just 23 minutes, (with a fast charger). The Launch Edition also includes a 48 amp Level 2 home charger. It remains to be seen if it can handle off-roading, even though it has the Selec-Terrain system. The Jeep is designed for the road, and it embraces electric power with aplomb. However, the price is $71,995. This segment includes the Tesla Model Y and Genesis GV70, as well as the Cadillac Lyriq.
