WEEK OF AUGUST 21 – 2, 2023
You might be tired after four weeks hosting the Sun in Leo, and your prominent 10th house of status and career. If that’s the case, then you’ll roll out the red carpet for el Sol this Wednesday, August 23, as it commences its annual trek through Virgo and your eleventh house of technology and teamwork until September 23. While the view from the top has been pretty awesome, it might have gotten a bit lonely up there—or perhaps you were saddled with too much responsibility and not given enough personal power to make things happen. The next four weeks, you’ll be putting together your dream team. This could be for social or professional reasons. If you’re still in charge of a big mission, focus less on being “the boss” and more on being an inspiring leader who people actually want to work for! And if you’re part of the rank and file, be the kind of co-worker who doesn’t need to be reminded what to do or how to do it. By flying under the radar, you’ll earn loyalty points and position yourself for advancement when the time comes. The eleventh home also governs social activism, humanitarian causes and other charitable activities. Reach out to the organizations you care about in these next four weeks, whether they are helping the homeless or those with food insecurity.
Taking steps in the directions you want to go is advised, but don’t throw yourself into anything that you can’t hit pause on for a moment. That’s because there’s another major planetary move on Wednesday: Messenger Mercury turns retrograde in Virgo, reversing through your communal eleventh house until September 15. New projects could stall—or offers get rescinded. Forward progress could be delayed, or “management” might pull the plug on a team effort. You should be cautious with anything new, until the cycle is over. Retrogrades are a good thing, because they bring back old friends or co-workers who may call you out of nowhere, send you DMs, or even drop by your DMs. See where the relationship goes if it still feels strong. A round of reminiscing may lead to reunion plans or possibly a collaboration if you’re thinking along similar lines. Mercury is retrograde in the eleventh, which also governs technology. Take extra precautions when Mercury is retrograde in order to keep your information out of the wrong hands. When browsing on public computers, log out, then clear the cache.
On Sunday, Mars, your co-ruler, will shift into Libra, and the twelfth of rest, divine connections, and completions, until October 12th. This is your signal that it’s time to tie up loose ends and bring closure to an issue or relationship that’s no longer bringing you joy. The planet activating your chart can help you get to the bottom of these issues without getting bogged down in drama or detail. Mars is transiting your imagination sector and will be there for 6 1/2 weeks. This is the perfect time to work on creative projects. So set up your sanctuary, studio or laboratory. Mars, in the twelfth, can trigger divine downloads. It’s an excellent time for any kind of healing journey or rekindling a spiritual practice, the fringe benefit of which is a relaxed state of mind and possibly a bona fide mystical experience!
