Rick Owens, the Dark Lord, has once again wowed us with his extravagant display of grunge high fashion.
The usual stage was set up at the Palais de Tokyo, with neon pinks and yellows filling the air as models walked the garden in iconic and demonic silhouettes.

Inspired by Icelandic Artist, Björk who’s concert he attended earlier in September, Owen’s collection was a symbolism of hope.
“I went to a Björk concert earlier this month, and her intelligent, life affirming energy made me kind of embarrassed of my own mopey adolescent pessimism…and hers wasn’t a Disney escapist obliviousness, but a concerned and thoughtful trust in moving forward. She expressed hope,” said Owens.

Owens’ collection of dark and light colors, as well as the flowers that sprang from the sky, gave us hope.

Owens’ LIDO collection was crafted with an architectural eye. From black on black ensembles styled with sheer face masks, motorcycle jackets with over-exaggerated lapels and soft blush asymmetrical dresses styled in bright mustard colored gloves.

Owens incorporated chiffons, sheers and leathers into his designs. When it came to accessories, he showed off his new platform heels with thick straps across the front, which complemented his signature square-toe.

To create a dramatic and eerie aesthetic, models had their eyes covered to get into character.
Owens, who was using ultra saturated colors throughout the show, did not limit himself when it came time to experimenting with new and innovative shapes.
Rick Owens was one of the few designers who stepped outside the box at Paris Fashion Week. He allowed the attendees to see the evolution of his dark, mysterious and mysterious fashion universe.
