Montblanc’s Antarctic Adventure with a Special Montblanc Geosphere 1858

Journey into the frigid South Pole with the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole Exploration Limited Edition

In the realm where precision meets the spirit of exploration, Montblanc introduces the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole Exploration Limited Edition, a timepiece that transcends the boundaries of craftsmanship and ventures into the frozen heart of the Earth. The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Collection has always drawn inspiration from nature’s untouched wonders, captivating the imaginations of modern explorers. The South Pole is this time the inspiration for the timepiece. Ice plateaus with bone-chilling cold temperatures and windy conditions are the perfect setting.

Glacial Ice Blue dial on the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 oxygen South Pole Exploration Limited Edition. The difference between glacial ice and regular white ice is that its age, weight and density have almost completely expelled all the air. Montblanc has recreated the iced blue tones of a natural phenomenon that is the absence of oxygen in its Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Oxygen South Pole Exploration Limited Edition.

A single dial is made in 30 steps, which takes four times as long as a standard dial. Dial makers employ gratté boisé; each dial layer is printed, lacquered, polished, and left overnight to dry before the next layer can be applied. The dial is designed to capture the essence of glacial scenery, and offers an otherworldly visual.

Beyond the dial execution, Montblanc continues the “Zero Oxygen” legacy quite literally with the vacuum-sealed 42mm titanium watch cases. A lack of oxygen prolongs the life of the calibre by allowing it to withstand temperature fluctuations and prevent oxidisation. Flipping the watch over reveals a 3D engraving of the Southern Lights Aurora Australis on the caseback to celebrate the South Pole’s beauty, and this 1990 piece boutique limited edition Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole Exploration Limited Edition.
