As we continue to feed our long-dormant desire for the Y2K style, it is inevitable that the trend will return 20 years later. Fendi chose to be one of those who participated in the resurgence.

First revealed in the house’s Fall Winter 2024 collection, the Fendi x Devialet Mania portable handheld speaker is at the centre of this new development. Its exterior is adorned with FF icons, but it’s how it takes on the appearance of a handbag that makes it appealing. The speaker is the only thing it can do. And like how we once replaced our phones in the 2000s with the same spending habits of handbags, this crossover can only suggest one thing — are we entering an era where luxury electronic releases are fuelled by the desires of fashion?
