    Jeanneau’s Fun-Filled Centre-Console Flagship – LUXUO

The Cap Camarat 10.5 CC benefits from a Michael Peters hull
Michael Peters has designed the Cap Camarat’s 10.5 CC hull.

Now on the water and ready for some fun, the Jeanneau Cap Camarat 10.5 CC is the largest Centre Console model in the French builder’s Cap Camarat line of outboards and a sporty sister to the 10.5 Walk Around.

The 36-footer is a crossover boat that has been designed to be a versatile vessel. It can meet the needs and wants of all types of people, from fishermen, parents, to party animals.

The exterior lines of the boat are well-proportioned, balanced and have interesting details. For example, a strake which swoops from the fore to the aft side to end at the swim platform creates visual movement and dynamic.

The 10.5 CC can be powered by two 425hp Yamaha V8 outboards
Two Yamaha V8 425hp outboards can power the 10.5 CC.

However, Michael Peters’ hull design is more about seaworthy performance than good looks. The Cap Camarat 10.5CC’s deep-V shape is a wave eater, and the double chines are a clear indication of its performance.

As do the twin 425hp Yamaha V8 XTO outboards that you can’t help but notice when you board the boat from the swim platform. When you are behind the wheel, you will notice these outboards.

The three helm seats under the T-top are designed to be comfortable and can be flipped back when not being used to allow easy passage through the area. The T-top is protected by the windshield and side windows. Visibility, especially standing up, is great. Grip the helm wheel, ease the throttles forward and you’ll enjoy the 850hp the two Yamahas offer.

The skipper occupies the middle seat of three helm seats centrally placed.

It’s easy to keep track of the boat and everything that’s going on around it because all navigational info is displayed on Garmin flat screen panels. You can also add joystick controls for intuitive and simple manoeuvring. This is a combination that delivers both power and ease of operation.

    CLEVER Layout

The clever layout of the cockpit, updated by Sarrazin Design, can almost make you forget the ‘vroom’ factor. The Cap Camarat, designed as a crossover boat, is equipped for fishing. It has a large open cockpit which allows you to move around the boat easily and quickly. If you look closely, the hull side has L-shaped seating that can be folded down to make a dining space.

Below is a separate photo of the boat with its drop-down tables and benches.

Behind the console is a hatch that opens to reveal an outdoor kitchen with a sink, optional fridge and grill. There are six built-in speakers around the boat in case anyone’s in the mood for a little celebrating. Come to think of it, the fridge and icemaker would be as useful for storing ice and drinks as they would be for storing the day’s catch.

Or maybe you could reel in the day’s catch then cook it up right then and there in front of an appreciative audience. Versatility on the boat is key.

The bow area can include a table or be filled in with cushions
The bow can be filled with cushions or a table.

Mies van der Rohe said that God is in details. The Cap Camarat 10.5CC proves that the Jeanneau team knows how to make a boat feel like home.

Open the port side door then lift the floor panel and you’ll find a swimming ladder that simply folds out along the side of the hull and into the water. No fetching or mounting required if anyone wants to take a dip, a feature that’s sure to keep everyone aboard happy and in their element.

Biminis can cover the forward and aft ends of the boat
Biminis are available for both the front and rear ends of a boat

Two wide passages surround the centre console, providing easy access to the front deck, which features a C-shaped couch, a teak dining table, and a double Sun Pad that can be converted into twin chaise longues by lowering an armrest.

You can adjust the height of the table, add cushions to the area and it will become a large sunbathing zone. Or you can mount an awning onto poles for shade. Either way, it’s a perfect spot for relaxing with friends or family.

    MORE BELOW

You still have more to discover. There is a sliding-door on the port-side of the console that leads to the lower level.

A door on the port side reveals stairs to the lower deck
The lower deck is accessible through a door on the portside.

The ceiling hatch, hull windows in the front and side and a surprisingly large space fore get plenty of light. The central table can be raised to create a large cabin with a shared bathroom, including a shower stall. A second cabin with a double bed is created by raising the table.

From below decks, what at first appeared to be a fishing vessel or a floating party venue has evolved into the perfect boat for a weekend family getaway.

Topped by a large sky light, the forward lounge can be filled in to create a double berth
The forward lounge is covered by a large roof light and can be turned into a double berth.

Cap Camarat 10.5CC is a boat that can be tailored to your needs. Whether you want to go fishing with a group of friends, entertain some guests or spend quality time with your family, the Cap Camarat will fit in. What if there’s someone on board who is prone to seasickness? There’s an option for the Seakeeper 2 gyroscopic stabiliser that stops the boat dead in its tracks, so to speak.

And if the fish are finicky or if there’s a light sleeper aboard, the boat can run in hotel mode for hours in silence using a lithium battery pack.

The midships cabin can be set up as two singles or a double
The midships can be configured as a double or two singles.

If you’re on the market for a Range Rover of the seas, the Jeanneau Cap Camarat 10.5 CC just might fill the bill. This boat is a great combination of design, safety, and speed.

Dress it down to use it as fishing boat. Dress it in a fancy outfit and throw a party. Take a group of your friends out on a day trip. Pack up the car and go out with family and friends for an overnight or even for a long weekend.

The cockpit features a wet bar and drop-down bench sofas aft, starboard and port
The cockpit is equipped with a wetbar and drop-down benches aft and to the port and starboard.

Switch on the Seakeeper to enjoy the calm. It’s the perfect boat to have fun on the water no matter what you like.
