Launched in 2019 with a range of models to suit different budgets, ILIAD Catamarans has already established a second yard to meet demand, and looks like becoming “the next big thing” in the bespoke powercat market.
Mark Elkington’s brand is the result of his experience as CEO of ILIAD, co-owner Global Marine. The brand has multihulls all over Asia-Pacific, Europe, and now America. Mark Elkington also runs Multihull Solutions, a specialist agency, and The Yacht Sales Co., a rapidly expanding company with offices in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Singapore, Philippines and New Caledonia.
Another mastermind of ILIAD Catamarans is renowned Italian naval architect Riccardo Bulgarelli, who worked in Europe for some of the world’s leading shipyards before establishing his own design office in Asia. Bulgarelli, who has managed and designed exclusive custom builds up to 112ft LOA in the past, applies his knowledge to help create the ILIAD Experience.
Global Marine provides financial and management protection for its clients. Global Marine’s powercats come standard with CE (Cat A), however, owners are free to specify their own classification society. The warranty covers the structure for five years.

The ILIAD 53F flybridge, which will be unveiled in 2023 at the Sydney International Boat Show, is the flybridge version of the ILIAD 53S sedan that was first shown at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Both models have been very popular with buyers, who appreciate the range of these boats and their fuel efficiency.
The 53F is the only boat in its class with the highest clearance of bridge deck. This, combined with high freeboards, allows it to perform well in rougher conditions, but also in a more gentle offshore swell.
This impressive explorer is fitted with 440hp Volvo engines or Yanmar. Cummins can also be added. The yacht has a top-speed of 21 knots, which is lightship speed, when needed. At lower revs, it can cruise over 3,135nm. These figures are among the best on the market, and when combined with fuel economy, they are an attractive option for buyers looking to go further.
ILIAD’s 53F can be a stylish weekender, or a boat for a planned extended deep-sea adventure. It offers outdoor living areas that will captivate anyone who steps aboard. The aft helm has a bar, barbecue and dining area for up to ten guests.

The flybridge is a massive area with another large dining room and lounge that easily seats 10. Its independent galley and BBQ, bar and refrigerator make it a perfect place for outdoor dining and entertainment. Upper helm seats are premium quality doubles, which allow drivers to communicate with guests.
The adjustable foredeck lounges make a great place to enjoy sunset cocktails. You can also store a variety of toys in the lockers. When the tender is deployed, you can use the optional tender platform for sunbathing or swimming.
The ILIAD 54F interior consists of a salon in the forward section, an optional helm station, and a second dining area that can seat six to eight persons. From anywhere in the interior, panoramic views are available and there is an abundance of light.

Galley with island bench and full-sized refrigerator/freezer, as well as well-designed storage.
The layout of the interior is customizable for all ILIAD Catamaran model. It can be tailored to meet individual requirements and styles. The layout of the interior can be changed to suit individual needs and styles. Additional refrigerator and freezer storage, additional open-plan galleys, custom timber finishes, upholstery, or cabin layouts may all be possible.
This bespoke concept is a major advantage that ILIAD offers over competitors, as it enables owners to create their own unique vessel at a price that production manufacturers can’t meet.
The starboard master suite is spacious and luxurious, with a large headroom. The master suite in the starboard hull is remarkably spacious, with generous headroom and a luxury apartment ambience.

The port hull has a standard twin cabin and a very practical guest cabin in front with either single or two double berths. Each cabin comes with its own private bathroom and ample storage.
Three models of the ILIAD 53S were sold following the Sanctuary Cove show, this version appealing to clients wanting to enjoy unrestricted waterways such as America’s Intracoastal.
Similarly, the ILIAD 53F had a “huge success” after Sydney, said Elkington, with more orders taken, and the extraordinary range of both models was highlighted by the recent cruise of the 53S Tantrum Kimberley is a remote area of Western Australia.
The first ILIAD was sold in 2023 to a US couple. In July, US Youtubers Victoria Chalaya and Rox Stoll reviewed it for their NautiStyles Channel, resulting in an additional 170,000 views. This sparked interest in the States and opened up a new market for ILIAD.
