Hermitage Cognac the independent, premium cognac house, has launched its Hermitage Siècle d’Or 100-Year-Old Cognac, which is believed to be the world’s oldest barrel-aged cognac ever released. There are only 68 one-liter decanters available to cognac connoisseurs, collectors, and investors to purchase in luxury, hand-crafted Cumbrian Crystal one-liter decanters, at a retail price of £24,900 each.
Hermitage Siècle d’Or 100-Year Old Cognac takes its name from the “Siècle D’Or”, the Golden Century in France, and is one of the finest old Cognacs It is the oldest cognac ever produced. This cognac is unique in its age category and is the oldest Premier Cru Single Estate Cognac ever bottled.

David continues, “It is one of only a very small quantity of cognac aged in cellars in the heart of the Premier Cru of Cognac Also known as Grande Champagne. This vintage cognac was aged in Limousin Oak Barrels for 100 years, untouched or blended. This exceptional long aging process has created a complex of rich aromas and flavors, which are only common with the oldest and best cognacs. The smoothness and quality of the flavor are a masterpiece. Flavors of cocoa, burnt toffee, mushroom, ginger, candied fruit, and kumquat are all wrapped up in an intensely rich ratio found only in the rarest of cognacs.”
Hermitage Siècle d’Or 100-Year Old Cognac is produced from Ugni Blanc grapes, cultivated in the region of Liginères Sonneville, which is situated in the heart of Grande Champagne and renowned for its exceptional terroir and production of some of the purest cognacs. This exclusive cognac was distilled using copper Alembic Charentais stiles in the Segonzac district.
Hermitage Siècle d’Or 100-Year-Old Cognac is presented in beautiful one-liter crystal decanters made by Cumbria Crystal, the last producer of completely hand-blown and hand-cut, luxury English crystal in the UK. Each decanter has a gold leaf engraving and is individually numbered on the bottom. Each decanter requires two weeks of meticulous craftsmanship. It is then placed in an elegant wooden presentation case that also includes a letter written by Hermitage Chairman David Baker, and a leaflet containing information about cognac.
