JETS Australia offers a range of luxurious resort wear and swimwear. The considered curation means there’s something for everyone, and every look – from timeless resort essentials like one-pieces to contemporary and fun bikinis that call to the beach, and not forgetting the stylish coverups and wears that’ll take you from the beach to the beach bar. Sylvie McCallum, Chief Marketing Officer at Seafolly and JETS lets us in on the brand and the latest collection that’s dropping this month.
What’s the ethos behind Jets?
Jets, a luxury resort lifestyle company with a global reach, aims to give women confidence through its promise of unmatched fit and quality. Jets is a global luxury resort lifestyle brand that continues to innovate in the category of swimwear and resortwear through quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. We believe in timeless styles that emphasize fabrication and fit with classic silhouettes, refined details and refinement. Jets, inspired by the modern jet setter woman’s lifestyle, carefully curates every collection with an eye for quality and longevity.
How did you go from the sketch to the production?
The foundation of a collection is the concept and the color. It is this that determines the next steps. Our designers are very keen to start the collection on a strong foundation. Jets’ concept board, as well as the Jets-specific colors, are a great source of inspiration. After that, we research prints and shapes based on the collection’s concept, trend research and everyday inspirations. We then create our own prints, whether they are hand-painted or drawn. These prints can be engineered into the shapes that we love. This is a very collaborative and close working process. We like to maintain a beautiful, seamless flow throughout the delivery months in terms of color and merchandising, with this being at the forefront of the design teams’ minds. The key to our success is quality and fit as the collection evolves and ideas are consolidated. We ensure the best print quality, materials and garment fit to our loyal clients.
What inspired this collection?
JETS explores the playful, indulgent, and spirited Italian Summer in Resort 24. Sicily was the inspiration for the collection. It features vibrant colors, textures that are tantalizing, and modernism.
What is the color palette for your key pieces?
As we are best known for our Black One-Piece, our Jetset Swimsuits, which come in a variety of colors but the classic Black is our most popular, would be considered our key pieces. The Plunge One Pieces, Minimal tanks, and Bandeau One Pieces are some great examples. They also create a strong base for our fashion stories. They’re often pulled through and reimagined in our collections for those looking for our trusted key shapes. When designing the Resort 24 Collection (named La Dolce Vita), our goal was to incorporate iconic Italian colours as well as global runways, and market trends. We have combined both rich and bold tones, reimagining timeless and understated. This season’s palette evokes passion, elegance, and informal indulgence with pops of color in a way that will resonate with the customer! Alongside the season’s colors of Rosso, Moss, Ink, Merlot, and Tan, which we feel embody the JETS customer, we have also added pops of Peony Pink, Sunflower Yellow, and Dolce Blue, adding subtle feminine highlights to what we feel is a strong color palette for the season.
What is your favorite piece of music and why?
It’s hard to pick just one, but some of my favorites sit in our first drop. The Sorella One Shoulder One Piece features a pattern that is inspiring with oversized curves and a color palette that was carefully curated (all colors were created in-house). This One Piece is trimmed with a beautiful organic metallic shape. I love it! I’m always drawn to Jets’ geometric prints which the brand is known for. Sorella has a geo-print collection that is a perfect match. My personal favorite is Sorella Geo Minimal Tri Top with High Waist Boyleg, which features a high-shine fabrication that softens graphic lines and rectangular shape of the collection.
