Azimut continues to improve its Flybridge line, with the new Fly 72. The exterior is designed by Alberto Mancini, and the interior by Fabio Fantolino. This is his first design in the yachting industry.
The yacht had its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival – along with the Magellano 60 and Verve 48 – and was also on display at the Genoa International Boat Show, where Azimut had another strong display.
Mancini, who also designed the 53, 68, and the Fly 72, continues to work on the flybridge range. Mancini also designed many of the recent Grande and S model, including the S7 which debuted at Boot Düsseldorf in January and was exhibited in Cannes and Genoa.
The Fly 72 is 74ft1in long and has a beam of 18.ft5in. Two 1,400mhp MAN CR V12 engine give a maximum speed of 31 knots, and a cruising of 26 knots. The cockpit has a C shaped sofa and adjustable table. On the foredeck, there is a C shaped sofa, as well as an expansive, flexible sunpad.
On the port side of the flybridge, there are several lounging spaces, including chaise longues at the aft end, a C shaped dinette in the middle, and a larger sunbathing area by the twin seat helm. Starboard, there is an L-shaped bar with a choice of a TV that can be raised. All the yacht’s outdoor areas feature sofas with thick, rounded cushions.
Fantolino specializes in residences and hotels and has studios both in Turin, Italy and Milan. He has created an interior that is warm and soft, with leather, textured fabrics, earthy colors like brown, tan and bronze, as well as precious materials, such a glossy lacquer and bronze.
The saloon is the first room to be seen. It has an L-shaped sofa on port and a settee with two seats to starboard. Midships, to starboard there is a dining table. A galley can be opened or closed to port. To starboard is the twin-seater helm, and to port a raised dinette.
The lower deck has four en-suite guest cabins comprising a full-beam master midships, VIP in the bow, a twin to starboard and double to port, while there’s also crew accommodation for two aft. Marine Italia represents Azimut throughout Hong Kong and Macau as well as Guangdong. Taiwan, Singapore, and Taiwan.
