In honor of their 30th anniversary, Essence Fest did a big one this year with various celebrity performances, and activations that was unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Celebrities were seen styling and profiling.
In an iconic photo, which showcased black excellence, we witnessed bombshells Regina King and Sanaa Lathan. Tabitha Brown was also in the picture. Garcelle Beauvais and Marsai were serving bomb looks at Target Ladies Brunch.
King wore an off-white Generation Love button-up dress, while Lathan chose a Karina Grimaldi Maxi Dress in denim.
Brown and Beauvais went for a citrusy look in Farm Rio and Mango, while Martin was a slay in a bright Area print dress.
Ari Lenox, a singer from New York City, performed on stage wearing Jeremy Haynes’ styled denim LaQuan-Smith look. Ari’s rose gold ‘Giuseppe Zanotti X Mary J. Blige’ Her boots and fishnet stockings kept her on stage, while her boots brought her to the forefront.
KeKe Palmer, who gave an incredible performance at the BET Awards during her tribute to Usher wore a Balmain black asymmetrical dress with embellished 3-D roses at the neckline.
Victoria Monet, instead of rocking a dress with heels like her predecessors, kept it edgy and wore a leather short set. Her maroon Seks top with beaded details was the highlight and provided a nice contrast against her quilted jacket.
J. Bolin styled SWV’s custom Anthony Lattimore looks. They sparkled and glittered from head to foot. The women looked fierce and futuristic while they performed their hit songs at the festival.
Celebrities definitely ‘PUT IT ON’ at Essence Fest in some of the most mesmerizing ensembles. We saw a lot of individuality when it came to everyone’s style which was deliciously cool, and collectively a treat.
