Want to go on an adventure in Canada. Canada offers many ways to push yourself out of comfort zone. You can do everything from bungee jump to sleep in an ice cavern. If you’re not sure where to start, however, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite adventure activities available in Canada. Click here to read more.
Bobsleighing in Calgary
Calgary, Alberta – famous for its annual stampede – hosted the Winter Olympics of 1988. Calgary Olympic Park is still a magnet for thrill seekers who want to race down the bobsleigh and luge tracks.
Calgary Olympic Park offers bobsleighing with an expert driving the cart, as well as a luge course that can reach speeds up to 60 km/h. If speed and excitement is what you’re after on your adventure holiday in Canada, bobsleighing is a must.
Calgary Olympic Park is a great place to enjoy the thrills of folly throughout the year.
Trekking West Coast Trail, Vancouver Island
The Canadian West Coast is home to some of the most stunning scenery in Canada.
Pacific Rim National Park is a wonderful place that has preserved much of its landscape. This includes the West Coast Trail. It’s a 75 kilometer (47 mile) hike through forests and bogs. You will also climb up and down ladders to reach the rugged and sandy coastline. Some of the more difficult to reach places can only be reached by boat or helicopter, adding to the excitement.
This week-long journey is not for those who are weak of heart. It requires physical strength and stamina, so don’t take it lightly, because you will likely see few people on your walk. From supplies to food, you carry it all on your back.
The West Coast Trail only allows 52 hikers a day.
Newfoundland, Swimming with Whales

Canada offers numerous opportunities for whale watching, thanks to its long coastline. Most passengers board either a large ferry or smaller, more maneuverable Zodiac. However, those looking to check ‘swimming with whales’ off their bucket list can dive in and swim alongside the majestic creatures.
It’s best to schedule this kind of trip with adventure holiday pros, and Ocean Quest Adventures in Newfoundland, Canada’s most easterly (and perhaps friendliest) province, is one of the best.
Rick and Debbie Stanley’s relationship with whales is long-standing. They love to host visitors and educate them about whales as well as conservation of marine life and sustainable tourism.
Exploring the. Toronto CN Tower EdgeWalk
Simply staring down from the CN Tower’s sky-high glass observation decks is enough to make some people nervous.
EdgeWalk offers the ultimate adventure experience for those who want to take their holiday to the next step. EdgeWalk is known as the world’s highest full-circle, hands-free walk, and this activity requires visitors to walk on a 1.5 m wide ledge encircling the top of the Tower’s central pod — 356m or 1,168ft (116 stories) above the ground.
EdgeWalk offers both an exhilarating and terrifying experience as participants are strapped to a track while walking around the Tower’s 360-degree perimeter. Lean back or over to the side for a unique view of Toronto.
Staying in The Ice Hotel in Quebec

You could find it incredibly comforting and lovely to sleep in an ice-hotel, or you could find it completely absurd. You can make your own choice by booking a hotel room at the Quebec Ice Hotel. Each year, as temperatures fall in January, the Ice Hotel is rebuilt. The design becomes more extravagant with each passing year.
You can start your journey at the bar. This architectural wonder is entirely made of ice. The temperature in the hotel varies between -3 and 5 degrees Celsius. However, no one ever feels cold.
The hotel offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the hot tubs outside and the sauna before retiring for night. You will sleep deeply and peacefully.
Bungee jumping, Nanaimo

Jumping 50m from a bridge with nothing but a long elastic cord linked to your ankle qualifies as “extreme”. Canada may not be the originator of bungee jumps, but it has some great locations including the WildPlay Elements Jump.
WildPlay Elements Park, in Nanaimo (British Columbia), encourages visitors to jump off a bridge and freefall 150 feet. Visitors will brush against the Nanaimo River and then bounce up and down. Nothing really screams ‘adventure holiday’ quite like a bungee jumping experience.
Visitors to Nanaimo on a tight budget may be interested to know that WildPlay Nanaimo is offering giant bungee jump discounts in February as part of an event to raise money and awareness for mental health. Proceeds will benefit the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society. Jumping naked is required. It appears that there are many interested parties. There are also tickets for spectators.
Ride rollercoasters in Wonderland’s Leviathan, Toronto
The country’s largest amusement park, Canada’s Wonderland in Toronto, Ontario, is home to this incredibly steep and narrow rollercoaster. Leviathan is Canada’s tallest and most exciting roller coaster, measuring 5,486 feet (1,672 m) long, 306 feet (93 m) tall, and reaching a high speed of 92 miles per hour (148 km/h).
The Leviathan’s engineering is sound, to be sure. There have been no accidents, and driving a car on a Canadian highway is far riskier than riding a rollercoaster at Canada’s Wonderland. Even so, it seems wrong to board this thin combination of steel, fibreglass and rubber for even three and a quarter minutes.
But that’s a minority viewpoint — the rollercoaster’s wait is notoriously long, and some visitors ride it a dozen times per visit.
Surfing in Bay of Fundy

The legendary Bay of Fundy tides, the world’s highest, generate the tidal bore phenomenon. As the tide rises, the Petitcodiac River rushes upstream. This causes a long, continuous, and huge wave. Surfers have noticed.
Whitewater Rafting, Ottawa
Ottawa is a great place to whitewater raft.
You’ll get wet, and it’ll be physically demanding, but the adrenaline rush will keep you going down the Ottawa River. The surrounding area offers a variety of options to help you conquer the river, regardless of your level or expertise.
Canada is the best choice for an active vacation in a foreign land. With plenty of extreme activities on offer, you’ll need a holiday after going through them all.
