Rolex is always at the forefront of our coverage for Watches and Wonders Geneva and it’s easy to see why: The Oyster Perpetual GMT Master II. Basically, what is new here is the first new bezel variant since 2022’s Lefty. The 2024 Oyster Perpetual GMT Master II keeps the traditional crown but introduces a colour combination that’s unusual, yet cool: black and gray. The 2022 Lefty also has a GMT hand in green, but this is a completely new design. This model is one of the more surprising new models, despite its low-key appearance.
In this context, it’s important to note some additional facts about GMT-Master II. The fact is that no models are being discontinued despite the hype surrounding certain models. The 2024 GMT-Master II adds to the current number of variants, which is now 14, according to reports. The new grey and black model is available with both the Oyster bracelet and the Jubilee band. It has yet to be given a name by the internet (we like Grey Ghost, but we don’t know what it will be called). In summary, the new GMT-Master II remains unchanged from its predecessors in all aspects.

At the same time, those who love the world’s most popular GMT watch might be wondering what this means for their dreams of owning some version of it; they will also wonder why the coke bezel remains out of picture, despite Tudor introducing it for its GMT model. You can make your own guesses on these topics, but I’ll say that the Grey Ghost could be a cooling device of some sort. Perhaps it’s meant to appeal fans of GMT-Master II with its solid black bezel. In the months to come, experts and specialists will surely have more information on this watch.
