This Spring, we are bringing joy to Milan by arriving from Milan. Pomellato’s Pom Pom DotA collection whose shape is inspired by the button. Pomellato revisits its iconic ‘button’ design heritage and reinterprets an iconic gold necklace from 1974 in a playful way – the Pom Pom Dot bracelet and necklace flips with two-sided gem colors for versatility. The button motif is a nod to a functional accessory and a talisman, with its soft round silhouette evoking a “modern-day emblem of connection and protection.”
The new collection also includes malachite, in addition to mother-of pearl and diamonds. The hardstone derives its name from the ancient Greek ‘molochs lithos’ or mallow-green stone, as the color resembled that of the leaves of the mallow plant (Malva sylvestris). Malachite was at the height of fashion in the early 1800s, due in part to the era’s obsession with new geological discoveries. The brand claims that it is now recognized as a valuable gemstone and ornamental minerals.
The Pom Pom Dot collection includes a pendant and bracelet. Stud earrings are also available. Each pendant and bracelet has a ‘gold thread’ that runs through both sides of the button: one side of the ‘gold thread’ within the button is in sleek rose gold, while the other side is peppered with white diamonds. These jewels come in 3 different variants. The first jewel has green malachite one side, and mother of pearl the other. The second variant features white diamonds and mother-of pearl on one side, while the third variant has grey mother-of pearl and white mother of pearl on the opposite side.
With the Pom Pom Dot necklaces and bracelets being immensely stackable, Pomellato is bound to add new iterations to its “youngest range” of jewels.
