Even though everyone has to get dressed in the morning, it can be a frustrating and difficult task. Most of us have stood in front of a closet full of clothes and still said: “I have nothing to wear.” So be sure that you are not alone on this daily challenge. Here are some tips I can give you:
Balance proportions
You want to showcase the parts of your physique that you’re proud of. For example, a toned arm or a slim waist. It’s tricky to know how to minimize the less-loved parts. Wearing wide-leg trousers can be a tactic to balance a fitted upper half. Wearing too much will make you appear larger. You can also use distraction. You can use a scarf to draw attention to your upper body if you have a pear shaped body.
Fashion trends for all ages
You can probably find adult versions of styles that you like. Consider crop tops. Wear a high waisted skirt to cover the cropped top. Wear a cropped top over a skin-tight top to hide the stomach.
You’ll look slimmer if you wear the right bra size
Your clothes will fit better if you pay attention to the position and placement of your breasts. If you wear the correct size bra, there will be no bulging and sagging. This means that from various angles, your silhouette will look trimmer. Aim for the middle of your arm and shoulder. If the center front pan of the bra lies flat, and the cups do not have wrinkles or gaps, you will achieve the perfect look. You will know if the bra is perfect if you are able to squeeze two fingers underneath the band.
Don’t be too matchy
Wear clothes that complement each other, rather than matching them (in the conventional sense). It is possible to achieve this using a simple colorwheel. Colors that are opposite one another match perfectly. To do this, you can use combs that are navy blue or purple with orange and saffron. You can also vary the color and texture in your accessories.
Selectively reveal your skin
Wearing a low-cut gown, you can draw attention to your cleavage. This will help you avoid showing your arms and legs. You can also choose a dress that is body-conforming with a neckline and hemline that are sensible. A skirt that falls a few inches above your knee, but is flared rather than tight will not draw attention.
Spend more on staples
The basics like tees, jeans and button-downs shouldn’t cost a fortune. You can find many quality basics at affordable prices. Don’t go cheap on the staples when you can get something at higher quality that will last longer. If you buy a $50 sweater in bargain cashmere, it may save you $50 but will soon stretch and need to be replaced. Spending a little extra once is worth it.
Don’t change your hair too many shades at once.
When a 45 year old woman suddenly dyes her hair green or blue, it doesn’t speak out as trendy but more of a crisis. According to HairInsights Editor Chastine Levin, “Put some colored highlights in and do things gradually or you may turn people off with a shock factor.”
