The scent of teakwood is a natural fragrance that captures the essence of nature. Some colognes may be floral, bright, citrusy or clean with woodsy undertones. The best teakwood fragrances appeal to a broad range of senses. The scent of wood can be calming and reassuring. Many people think they can help with relaxation and sleep. Since ancient times, spiritual and religious practices have used woody scents.
From everyday colognes like Bath & Body Works Teakwood to luxury special occasion fragrances, including Oud Wood by Tom Ford, teakwood colognes are worth adding to your scent stash.

What you need to know
In order to write this teakwood review, I spent a great deal of time researching the different teakwood fragrances available. Designer brands and perfume houses use different notes to complement teakwood’s woody offering, so each fragrance is unique.
There is one constant, though: regardless of whether you’re an eco-warrior or keyboard warrior, woodsy, outdoorsy scents are universally popular. Each of these fragrances offers something unique. Bois Dore by Van Cleef & Arpels is a seductive, sensual scent. Sauvage, by Dior, is a popular scent with a rugged appeal and a well-groomed appearance.

Why it’s great: All of these occasions call for a sophisticated scent. Date nights, special dinners, formal office settings, and business meetings are all examples. Bois Dore is my favorite teakwood cologne.
Use it: Bois Dore has a pleasant scent. It only takes one or two sprays to make you smell amazing all day. It lasts for 7+ hours. Unlike with my summer colognes, I don’t like to re-apply fragrances too frequently in colder weather. So, staying power is what I’m looking for in a winter or fall cologne.
There are flaws, but they’re not fatal. This fragrance has been marketed as unisex. It is more yang-oriented than yin, which is great news for guys.
Top Notes Black pepper, mineral notes| Middle Notes Vanilla, almond, tobacco, cedar| Base Notes Tonka bean, Teakwood, Musk| Size: 2.5oz | Type: Eau de Parfum| Season: Winter, autumn, and early Spring
Why it’s great: Becks is not short of money to spend on expensive fragrances. But, if you’re about to kick off your scent game, then at a little over 20 bucks, this celebrity cologne is a winner. Plus, there’s never been a greater time to smell like this famous footie star. Thanks to his recent Netflix debut, Golden Balls’ popularity and sex appeal is at an all-time high.
Use it: Instinct begins with a reviving blast of floral and citrus notes. But it’s the teakwood and musk base notes that put it in the first division. Some reviewers claim that they spray Instinct on their clothing as well as one or more warm parts of the body. Why? Fabrics hold fragrances better than skin.
Flaws are not dealbreakers It doesn’t score top points for date night, and it may not make it on the top 11 men’s colognes women love. It is one of the most pleasant colognes to wear after a workout, and also works well for work. Instinct is one of the best-executed celebrity scents.
Top Notes Melon, ginger, lemon | Middle Notes Violet leaf, cedar, coriander| Base Notes | Size: 2.5oz | Type: Cologne| Season: All year round
Why it’s great: The winter months are the best time to wear woody scents. Tom Ford is known for his luxurious, sensual and woody aromas. Fragrantica fan JosephFragrance, says that “Tom Ford Oud Wood is not just a fragrance; it’s a confidence booster, a mood lifter, and a teleportation device to the poshest places your nose can imagine…’ I’d say he hit the nail on the head.
Use it: Tom Ford colognes are always high-end and luxurious. This spicy and smoky fragrance is a perfect winter scent. Only spray the product 2-3 times. Just don’t make the fragrance faux pas of rubbing your wrists together after spritzing. You’ll dull the top notes and spoil the cologne’s development.
Flaws are not necessarily deal-breakers Oud Wood cologne is among the most expensive teakwood fragrances. Is there a price that is too high for a cologne that gets compliments? I think this boujee is a good investment.
Notes: Agarwood (oud), Brazilian rosewood, cardamom, sandalwood, Sichuan pepper, vanilla, vetiver, tonka bean, amber | Size: 1oz | Type: Eau de Parfum | Season: Winter, autumn, and early Spring
Why it’s great: Sauvage by Dior has universal appeal for young men and mature men. Dior remains one of the best cologne brands for men, so it’s no surprise that this EDT has clocked up over 16K Amazon reviews.
Use it: Spray the cologne on your wrists, chest and neck. Or anywhere you feel a pulse. These hot spots are great for helping to boost your cologne’s projection. Sauvage is one of the best long-lasting scents on the scene, so there’s no need to re-apply.
There are flaws, but they’re not fatal. Some guys feel Sauvage’s popularity and cult status have made it mainstream and easily recognizable. But it’s no wonder men are keen to get their hands on one of the best-smelling men’s colognes. Redditor Mashy00 agrees, “Dior Sauvage is loved and popular for a reason. It’s a really good scent…The fragrance speaks for itself. Its mass appeal and the sales it’s made are monumental.”
Top Notes Calabrian bergamot, pepper| Middle Notes Sichuan pepper, lavender, pink pepper, vetiver, patchouli, geranium, elemi| Base notes Ambroxan, cedar, labdanum| Size: 6.8oz | Type: Eau de Toilette | Season: Fall, winter, spring and summer
Why it’s great: It’s unusual to discover great-smelling colognes for under 50 bucks. Specially ones that have over 3,100 Amazon ratings of 4.7/5 stars. Bath & Body Works corners the market by consistently producing accessible warm and earthy scents. Teakwood cologne smells like a stroll in the forest. It’s reminiscent of aromatic and aquatic A-lister, Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch, but for a fraction of the cost.
Use it: B & BW Teakwood leaves my skin feeling fresh and pleasantly clean. Longevity is around 2 hours, so you’ll need to re-apply. Don’t be tempted to over-spray, though, as the scent can be cloying. The fragrance lasts longer when I spray it directly on my clothing.
It’s not all bad: Its fragrance profile is simple, with only a trio of notes coming together to form one accord, meaning it’s less complex. You can still enjoy some of these notes until the fragrance fades.
Notes: Teakwood, lavender, mahogany| Size: 1oz | Type: Cologne| Season: Early winter, spring and summer
Why it’s great: This frag is no exception. What I love most about this teakwood fragrance is its long-lasting power. I get about 6-7 hours wear time, which I would expect from an EDP and not an EDC.
Use it: The cologne has a fruity, spicy opening and a warm, spicy finish. It’s like happiness in the bottle. Always spray an EDC on the nape of the neck or behind the ears to maximize your scent’s sillage.
There are flaws, but they’re not fatal. This cologne has a fruity opening and isn’t a typical woodsy scent. Don’t get me wrong, though; it is 100 percent a rich, wood-driven fragrance – just not in a regular run-of-the-mill way.
Top Notes | Middle Notes Pepper, caraway, cinnamon| Base Notes | Size: 3.4oz | Type: Eau de Parfum | Season: Early winter, autumn, spring and early summer

Teakwood Cologne – What to Consider When Buying?
Seasonality
The majority of teakwood colognes can be used all year. For me, though, thanks to their woody and spicy notes, it’s in winter and fall that these deep, and warm best teakwood colognes really shine. Wrap yourself in a mood-enhancing and comforting teakwood cologne once the wind starts to bite.
I try to include two colognes on my Christmas wish list every year. The first is luxury buy, Oud Wood by Tom Ford, and the other is Teakwood by Bath & Body Works. These scents are cozy and warm, and I enjoy letting them linger on a favorite wool sweater. When the sun comes out, though, you don’t have to trash the teakwood. Dior Sauvage and David Beckham Instinct are both warm-weather friendly.
Size
What is the ideal size bottle of cologne? The larger the bottle the more expensive per ounce. Wait before you rush to the cashier. This doesn’t always mean bagging the biggest bottle is the best choice.
Some teakwood colognes, such as Tom Ford’s Oud Wood, could set you back well over 150 bucks. Others, such as Instinct David Beckham are available for around $20. Ask yourself, once you’ve decided which teakwood scent to buy, what role will it play in your fragrance store.
If you’re buying a fragrance to rock all year round or opting for an EDT rather than an EDP, it’s a good idea to splash out on a large bottle. On the other hand, a medium size should work well if you’re investing in a special occasion scent. When I’m trying a new fragrance or blind buying, I choose a 1-ounce bottle to start with.
Longevity
If you are looking for a long-lasting teakwood cologne, remember it’s all about the base! Because when it comes to longevity, it’s the base notes that last the longest. They are the base notes of the fragrance, which give it depth and longevity.
These include notes that are woody, musky and resinous. They also contain tobacco, vanilla, and oud. Tom Ford Oud Wood should provide 6-8 wear hours, thanks to its base notes, which include oud, tonka, vanilla, amber, and tonka beans. Christian Dior’s Sauvage for Men is a savage high achiever in the longevity stakes, hitting 7-9 hours, which is impressive for an EDT.

Final Verdict
Teakwood colognes have a woody scent that is perfect for men who are reliable and love the outdoors. When it came time to choose the fragrance that would take home the crown, it was a simple decision. Bois Dore by Van Cleef & Arpels challenges the norm. Its unisex border blend easily transitions from daytime to night. Its tonka, vanilla and almond combination makes it sophisticated enough for a boardroom, but smooth enough for a date night. It’s a shining example of a teakwood cologne for fall and winter.

Teakwood has an earthy scent that’s warm and a little spicy. According to research, everyone perceives scent differently. The best teakwood fragrances may smell differently from person to person. My brother, for example, describes teakwood’s smell as a smokey scent with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. But my wife says it’s woodier with hints of leather, tobacco, and musk.

Rich, warm and woody, mahogany smells sweet, spicy, rich, and warm. In fragrances it can be the base note or main ingredient. Teakwood can have a light, airy scent that gives off a forest-like vibe. Teakwood takes a more supporting role than a leading one in teakwood fragrances.

Teakwood has four similar scents. Cedarwood and Sandalwood have a woody, warm aroma with a touch of sweetness and spice. Third, vetiver is earthy with a slight sweetness and grassy aroma. Guaiac Wood is warm and woody with hints that include spice and smoke. All four scents have a calming effect and a chill factor..
